The public realm is the single biggest asset that communities and municipalities have. We work to ensure that the public realm is enriching, sustainable and accessible to all members of the community. Master planning services range in scale from a single lot or acre to sites of several hundred acres. Our clients are just as diverse as our projects, from developers and municipalities, to consultation and freelance collaborations with other designers.

INFILL

Development on a small scale, infill focuses on redevelopment of vacant, bypassed or underutilized lots in areas with existing development and communities such as downtown districts. These projects deal with more restrictive existing conditions and tighter spatial constraints but are crucial to the safety, social and economic vitality of the community.

TOWNS + NEIGHBORHOODS

Large scale developments, planning a new community is a complex task, with the reward of resulting in desirable, sustainable and walkable communities. A primary concern when we design is ensuring minimal environmental impact to the site. Natural assets such as wetlands, ponds, woodlands are set aside and preserved, added to and nurtured.

FORM-BASED CODES

One of the most admired features of successful communities is their cohesive architectural character. Form-based codes guide new development to create a cohesive design that create a distinctive sense of place. They prioritize the pedestrian to shape the public realm We study a projects location to understand its character, draw inspiration, and inform our designs.
